The views from the hotel were absolutely stunning, with a perfect view of the volcano. the beautiful grounds were a delight to explore, with walking paths that allowed us to see monkeys, exotic birds, and butterflies right from our room. the fact that the hotel is situated close to all the major sights we wanted to visit was a definite bonus. the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room we stayed in was a bit dark and could benefit from better lighting. Although this was not a major issue for us, it did make the room feel a bit dull in the evenings.

Favourable location, very efficient staff. Walking around a tropical forest and lakes was a relief. Our room had a nice balcony.

A great location for seeing the volcano. There was much anticipation waiting and willing the clouds to part so we could see the summet and we were not disappointed. The driveway is fun. The location is tranquil and it was a delight to see the local birds and animals in the grounds and on the tour of the surrounding rainforest. Excellent restaurant too.

When the fog lifts the view is spectacular. The swimming pool and jacuzzi are very nice and you can sit there and see the volcano on a clear day. Most of the staff were very friendly, going out of their way to point out birds, frogs, and geckos.
It is a bit tired-looking and needs some upgrading (upholstery was worn through and cracked on the chairs in the room, for example).

the views were spectacular. the staff was nice.
The place is old dated, but that is not really the problem. It is in desperate need of repairs and maintenance. Everywhere in the common areas smelled musty and mildewed. There were leaks all over the place. There is a literal 10 minute drive from the main road up a steep narrow and winding trail to get to the hotel. There was not A/C in the room we booked (even though it was advertised on Booked.net as having a/c in all rooms) and there is no wireless internet access except in the lobby(another mis-advertisement by Booked.net). We were moved into a room with A/C when we complained and that A/C did not work. The hotel tried to assure us that it would be plenty cool at night but it was not. when we saw the rooms and the condition of the place we wanted to just cancel and leave but they said we would still be charged because we didnt cancel in advance. Mind you that we did not no-show, but took a look and wanted to leave because of the condition of the place. We were also assured that Booked.net would still bill us if we left, even if the hotel did not. The food is average at best. There are many nicer and cheaper and more central properties in the area to choose from.

I had an incredible stay at this lodge! The view of the volcano from my room was breathtaking, and I felt completely rejuvenated by the tranquil atmosphere. The room itself was lovely, clean, and had a coffee machine, which was a nice touch. The restaurant served delicious food at reasonable prices, and I particularly enjoyed the amazing value for money during the rainy season in August. The pool and jacuzzi were perfect for relaxation, and I loved exploring the rainforest on the property, spotting various birds and wildlife. The gardens were stunning, filled with beautiful flowers and buzzing hummingbirds. The attentive staff provided excellent service, and I even had the chance to meet the friendly owners. I highly recommend this wonderful oasis for a rejuvenating and memorable experience.
There were a few minor drawbacks, such as the power cut for a few hours, which meant no TV, Wi-Fi, lights, or chargers. However, the hotel provided candles, so we were able to make the best of the situation.

Amazing lake and volcano view. Most staff were really friendly. Restaurant was tasty mostly and good value with fine service.
Distance from road and challenging drive. Minimal amenities. Not as advertised on website..

We loved the view from the room.
The waiter at the restaurant was rude. The food was terrible and the staff were not helpful or honest. In fact we ordered a taxi through the hotel staff to take us to sky trek only to find out that they are getting kickbacks from these taxi drivers because they are over charging us. It cost us $80 round trip to go zip lining!!! The zip lining place is only 10-15 minutes from the hotel. It costs $30 one way to go to la fortunia and that is 30 minutes away from the hotel.

The views from the resort were absolutely stunning, with a perfect view of the volcano and valley. The grounds surrounding the resort were well-maintained and beautiful, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Additionally, the location of the resort was ideal, offering a remote and quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The rooms were not up to par. The maintenance seemed lacking, with a burned-out light bulb, a hole in the screen that allowed bugs to enter, and a low battery in the safe.

Fantastic location with superb view on the volcano! Helpful and kind staff. Rich flora and fauna. Own trail in the jungle
